The use of pockets & thermowells is recommended where the removal of a temperature probe without a pocket would require process shut down or drainage of the system.
GNW’s thermowells are economical but robust and long lasting products so sensors can be left in place. Pockets also allow sensors to be removed and replaced without causing unnecessary shut downs and expensive down time due to having to drain tanks and pipe lines.
We manufacture thermometers with internal or external threads which can also be combined with neck tubes to bridge thicker insulating layers. Protection tubes made of various materials are available. SIKA thermometer protection tubes are based on the DIN standard 43772. This results in the various protection tube designs and shapes.
We manufacture pockets and thermowells for use in wide range of industries and applications. We produce solid-material conduits for use with our diesel engine dial thermometers and diesel engine dial remote reading thermometers. They are especially suited for use in the exhaust gas area on large marine engines. They can also be manufactured to suit thermocouples and other sensors if necessary.
Our thermowell range includes protection tubes made of several pieces being soldered or welded together and protection tubes turned from a single piece. The protection tubes are either screwed or welded into position.
Materials include:
A variety of coatings can also be provided such as PTFE, FEP, Gore Fluroshield, Tantalum, etc.
One-off or ‘odd-ball’ pockets, can be supplied to customers own specifications. Threaded, sanitary or flanged connections are all available in any size.
