GAUGES
MANUFACTURE REPAIR & CALIBRATION OF GAUGES

Gauges North West Ltd manufacture, repair and calibrate an extensive range of gauges and accessories. From low cost general purpose gauges to high quality process and test gauges
Our range of specialist pressure and vacuum gauges are second to none.

Gauges North West's range of gauges are manufactured on-site at our Southport factory. Our manufacturing and management systems are structured to help us produce short runs economically therefore reducing the turn around time, enabling us to provide exactly to the customer specification, producing a range of gauges to a high standard of excellence which is both competitive and guaranteed to satisfy your requirements.

All instruments are manufactured under the supervision of our Q.A. Department who monitor all the equipment from goods inwards through to despatch ensuring that all finished products exactly meet our customer specifications.

TEST GAUGES

Our range of test gauges are useful for the implementation of Quality Standards and meet the Pressure Safety Regulations.

Gauges North West Ltd's test gauges offer an accuracy 0.25%.

All test gauges are manufactured to a very standard and are all issued with a traceable calibration certificate.

Test gauges are available in a selection of cases and dial sizes

MAGNEHELIC GAUGES

Measure standard or differential pressure, with extremely high accuracy. Using the simple frictionless magnehlic movement, it quickly indicates low air or non-corrosive gas pressures - either positive, negative (vacuum) or differential. Widely used to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity etc.

SAFETY PATTERN GAUGES

Extensively in harsh environments - primarily those found in petrochemical and offshore industries. The blow out back provides even greater operator protection - being retained on the gauge by a centre screw, prevents the risk of injury due to flying debris in the unlikely event of tube failure. The gauges are supplied as standard dry and sealed for liquid filling, or can be supplied ready filled with glycerine.

ELECTRICAL CONTACT GAUGES

A wide range is available to meet all applications and a high standard of quality ensures many years of trouble free operation. They can be used in varying temperatures. Single or double contracts are standard with triple contacts available on special request. Make or break settings can be achieved in a variety of permutations with rising or falling pressure / temperatures. The contact device allows the instrument pointer to continue indicating after the switching operation has taken place.

VIBRATION GAUGES

These gauges have been specially developed to meet the problem of excessive vibration which is the biggest single contributory factor in limiting the life of the instrument. It also helps to protect against the problems associated with rapid surge or loss in pressure and trying to obtain an accurate reading from a fluttering pointer. A Vibration Gauge gives greatly extended life and cost savings in the long term. It can be considered as a suitable alternative to Glycerine filling.

GENERAL PURPOSE GAUGES
Pressure and Vacuum gauges for general purpose use in Hydraulic or pneumatic applications with standard accuracies. Suitable for gaseous and liquid media that will not obstruct the pressure system or attack copper alloy parts.

HYGIENIC GAUGES

Specifically designed to be crevice free with flush diaphragm for all hygienic applications. They contain no filling fluid which would contaminate the process should a failure of the unit occur. Complying with the most stringent of hygiene regulations, and is available with a full range of connections and operating pressures.

DIFFERENTIAL GAUGES

Differential Pressure is a measurement between two different pressure sources. For example it could be the pressure difference across a filter, valve or restrictor. Gauges North West Ltd Offer a range of Differential Pressure Gauges for a wide variety of applications and industries. Our sealed sensor systems accurately measure liquid level, flow and other differential pressure

DIAPHRAGM SEAL GAUGES

The fitting of a diaphragm seal unit to a pressure gauge is recommended where the medium to be measured is highly viscous or contains suspended solids or is potentially corrosive to the Bourdon Tube. Seal units are normally connected directly to the gauge, but connection may be made by flexible capillary, which makes them ideal for remote pressure indication. Pressure is transmitted from the diaphragm seal unit to the bourdon tube by a suitable filling medium, the selection of which will ensure compatibility with the process and process temperature.

SCHAEFFER GAUGES

Designed for measuring the pressure or vacuum of substances which should not be handled by bourdon tube instruments. They are ideal for some corrosive products or liquids containing suspended solids.

Implementing specialist materials for both the connection and diaphragm enable the Shaffer Diaphragm gauge to be configured for use on any gaseous or liquid media including suspended solids or powders. The direct drive from the diaphragm to the movement ensures a more positive indication of pressure than other models of tube gauges.

Offering a full range of flanged connection sizes and materials, Schaffer Diaphragm gauges can operate at pressure ranges as low as 30 mBar with the option to permit units to withstand a maximum pressure of 70 bar.

ABSOLUTE PRESSURE GAUGES

These gauges are sealed to prevent changes in the prevailing barometric pressure affecting the calibration.

Used where pressures are to be measured independently of the natural fluctuations in atmospheric pressure. As a general rule all the known types of element and measuring principles can be applied. The pressure of the media to be measured is compared against a reference pressure which, at the same time, is absolute zero. case.
