Calibration foils are necessary for the day to day calibraiton checking of Coating Thickness Meters.
Each individual foil is measured in the centre and the value is written on the label and is supplied in a strong robust wallet which allows protection of each foil from dirt, grease etc.
The foils are supplied as a set of 8 foils and can be either the standard set of 25 / 50 / 75 / 125 / 175 / 250 / 500 / 750 micron or alternatively a special set can be supplied made up of any 8 values as listed below which will cater for more specialised measurement ranges.
12µm / 25µm / 37µm / 50µm / 63µm / 75µm / 100µm / 125µm / 150µm / 175µm / 190µm / 200µm / 225µm / 250µm / 275µm / 300µm / 350µm / 375µm / 500µm / 625µm / 750µm / 1000µm / 1250µm / 1500µm / 2000µm / 3000µm / 5mm / 9.5mm / 15mm

RH%-Dewpoint Meter allows the determination of the relative humidity, dew point and air temperature before the application of a coating
Specifications usually detail that the relative humidity and the dew point temperature must be strictly adhered to as well as monitoring the surface temperature.
Range and accuracy: RH 0-100% ±2%, Temperature –40°C to +85°C ±1%.
Supplied in a Carrying Case with Battery fitted.
Alternative equipment for determining the relative humidity and Dewpoint are the Whirling Hygrometer and Dewpoint Calculator.
Digital Thermometer is a pocket sized type K thermometer supplied with fitted surface contact thermocouple which will measure air and surface temperatures quickly and easily.
The probe is conveniently hinged and folds back into the side of the casing when not in use.
Measurement range -50°C to +300°C. Accuracy ±1% ±1 digit.

Complies with ASTM, NACE and SSPC methods of measurement.
The Snap Gauge can also be used as a micrometer for checking Calibration Test Pieces and also thickness of flakes of paint.
Minimum display resolution 0.002mm ( 2µm )
Testex Kit has all the necessary equipment contained in one kit to cater for blast cleaned surface profile measurement.
Testex Kit Contents:Two rolls of X-Coarse grade Testex TapeTestex Snap GaugeBurnishing Tool. Other grades of Testex Tape can be supplied in this kit on request.
Easy to use, place the Comparator against an area of the test surface, compare in turn the four sectors of the Comparator against the test surface using the X7 magnifier, placed so that the test surface is viewed simultaneously with a segment of the Comparator, the nearest profile to the Comparator determines the grade.
The different grades are defined as follows. Fine grade profiles equal to segment 1 and up to but excluding segment 2, Medium grade profiles equal to segment 2 and up to but excluding segment 3 and Coarse grade profiles equal to segment 3 and up to but excluding segment 4.
Supplied in a Protective Wallet.
A precision Nickel Comparator Plate which conforms to International Standard ISO 8503 for grit and shotblast surface roughness comparison measurement
When steel has been blast cleaned, the surface consists of random irregularities with peaks and valleys that are not easily characterised. Experts have recommended that the profile should be identified as dimpled (shotblast) or angular (gritblast) and that they should be graded as Fine, Medium or Coarse with each grade being defined by limits specified in ISO 8503, these characteristics are considered to give sufficient distinguishing features for most painting requirements.
A useful manual which illustrates a range of coating and surface defects likely to be encountered by the painting inspector
There are sections on blast cleaning grades Sa1, Sa2, Sa2½, Sa3, pre surface conditions, surface preparation, with guidance notes on dry abrasive blast cleaning and high pressure water jetting.
A pictorial reference of coating defects with a description of each defect and its probable causes together with prevention and repair recommendations.
Also illustrates various types of marine fouling with an appendix giving details of breakdown scales with a quick reference guide to the characteristics of certain types of paint and paint compatibility.
