TRANSDUCERS
![]() |
There
are three primary considerations to selecting a transducer. They are the pressure requirements of the system, the process temperature and the compatibility of the transducer with the working fluid. |
Pressure requirements:- Normal working pressure should be below the maximum range of the transducer. The proof and burst pressure ratings should be sufficiently high to provide an adequate safety margin in the event of system over pressure. As a guideline select a transducer with a range 125% of the normal working pressure.
| Temperature Range:- normal conditions should be within the compensated temperature range of the transducer, and the maximum system temperature should not exceed the stated maximum operating temperature of the transducer. |
Working Fluid (media compatibility)-
a very important factor when considering a
pressure transducer is assuring
that the transducer material is compatible with the working fluid.
